Asian Lit Bingo [Book Tag]

At the beginning of May I saw Aentee’s post about this month long event called,Β Asian Lit Bingo. Which is AMAZING, being from SingaporeΒ I’m always trying to find more books, especially SFF, written by Asian authors as well as books that ARE Asian in content in someway.

Instead of participating because my reading has been a bit stagnant as of late, I decided to find a book for each of the squares and make a rec list instead!! In retrospect I probably should have posted this earlier, but whatever. Better late than never. 😎

Top 10 Translated Books [Literary Lists]

In honour of Han Kang, and translator Deborah Smith, winning the International Man Booker prize for the novelΒ The Vegetarian, I decided to compile a list of my top 10 translated works.

Translators of books don’t often get the credit they deserve, which is really sad because it is almost on the same level as writing the book in the first place!! Correctly translating all sorts of hidden motives in the original language and all sorts of subtle nuances and even jokes can be a difficult task, even for a native speaker, let alone someone who is fluent from learning. LOVE ALL TRANSLATORS EQUALLY!!!!
